In Memoriam - UBCP/ACTRA member Theodore R. Thomas passed on Tuesday April 23rd at 9:52pm. The cause of death was kidney and heart failure. He died peacefully at the Brock Ferni care facility. Union of BC Performers Ratify new British Columbia Master Production Agreement (BCMPA) 90.7% vote yes - April 17, 2013 – Vancouver -The Members of the Union of BC Performers (UBCP) have ratified a new British Columbia Master Production Agreement (BCMPA) negotiated with the Canadian Affiliates of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) and the BC Producers’ Branch of the Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) with 90.7 % voting in favour of the new agreement.

UBCP/ACTRA News Release - Vancouver – Today NDP Leader Adrian Dix announced the NDP plan to increase film and television production in British Columbia. The plan includes increasing the BC labour tax credit to 40%. The current rate is 33% for foreign production and 35% for domestic production.

UNION OF BC PERFORMERS CONCLUDES NEGOTIATIONS FOR BRITISH COLUMBIA MASTER PRODUCTION AGREEMENT (BCMPA) - Negotiations between the UBCP/ACTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) and Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) formally concluded on March 12, 2013. After nearly a year and a half of bargaining, the Union of BC Performers/ACTRA has reached a tentative agreement for a new British Columbia Master Production Agreement to be placed before the Membership for ratification.
