Changes to UBCP Background Extra Membership - UBCP Background Extra Members (BEMs) are a valuable part of the Union and the inclusion and active participation of this sector is important for UBCP. UBCP has been actively encouraging BEMs to participate in all Union activities including Membership meetings, subsidized Member education programs, free audition taping facilities, industry events and various committees. As of 2011 ACTRA Fraternal Benefits Society has offered Health Care Benefits to Background Extra Members. UBCP has continued to educate producers on respect and dignity issues for all BEMs.
