TOP BC TALENT HONOURED AT THE 2013 UBCP/ACTRA AWARDS IN VANCOUVER

Vancouver – November 24, 2013 – The Union of BC Performers is pleased to announce the winners of the 2013 UBCP/ACTRA Awards in Vancouver.

UBCP/ACTRA Award for Best Actress Gabrielle Rose

UBCP/ACTRA Award for Best Actor John Pyper-Ferguson

UBCP/ACTRA Award for Best Newcomer Tyler Johnston

UBCP/ACTRA Award for Best Voice Nicole Oliver

UBCP/ACTRA Award for Best Stunt Colby Chartrand

The John Juliani Award of Excellence was presented to Ben Ratner and the Lorena Gale Woman of Distinction Award was presented to Carmen Moore. As well there was a special presentation inducting Garry Chalk into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame.

“This is our second year of the UBCP/ACTRA Awards and the response in the community has been great – we have almost doubled the number of guests – and we are thrilled” said Alvin Sanders, President of UBCP/ACTRA. “It is wonderful that our performers are being recognized and feted for their talent and hard work. We couldn’t be happier. Congratulations and well done.”

Stars such as Ian Tracey (Rogue, Sanctuary), Pascale Hutton (Arctic Air), Cameron Bright (Thank You For Smoking), Lexa Doig (Continuum), Ali Liebert (Bomb Girls), Louis Ferreira (Motive), Alexia Fast (Jack Reacher), and Liam James (The Way Way Back) celebrated with their peers on this special night.

The Awards Gala evening was hosted by Ellie Harvie and produced by Jay Ono of Vancouver Theatre Sports.

The awards show was presented by UBCP/ACTRA at the Vancouver Playhouse in Vancouver on November 24, 2013 and was attended by over 680 industry professionals including UBCP members, industry partners, press and politicians.
