We are investing in your future.

The UBCP/ACTRA Member and Dependant Scholarship Program helps to make sure you and your family have the means to pursue your education goals.

Overview

Two Scholarship Programs for Members and their dependents have been created by the UBCP/ACTRA Scholarship Fund Committee (SFC). These scholarships will help UBCP/ACTRA Members and their families pursue education and professional development to further their career goals.

The Member Scholarship will contribute funding to Full Members in pursuit of educational and/or professional development.

The Dependant Scholarship will contribute education funding to eligible dependents of Full Members.

Spring Submission Deadline: April 3, 2018
Fall Submission Deadline: October 3, 2018

Member Scholarship

UBCP/ACTRA will award funding, to a maximum of $5,000 per year, to Full Members to enhance their educational and/or professional standards in the industry. Programs which assist the member in continuing to develop their careers, whether directly through actor training or through training in other fields in order to supplement their income will be considered.

Priority consideration will be given to members who wish to broaden their skills within the film and television industry.

And finally, and importantly, members who wish or need to transition to a new career entirely may be supported by this initiative. Awards will be decided on both merit and financial need.

Eligibility

Any Full Member, in good standing, of UBCP/ACTRA (BC Branch) may apply for assistance.

The applicant must demonstrate financial need.

In the case of members wishing to transition to a new career, priority will be awarded based on length of membership within UBCP/ACTRA.

  • Proof of acceptance in the course of study

Further Information

Awards will be paid directly to the institution, school, or teacher providing the education and not directly to the applicant unless other arrangements are made.

If the applicant needs to travel and reside away from their normal residence, assistance MAY be awarded for travel and lodging, to a maximum of two hundred and fifty ($250) dollars for board and lodging and one thousand ($1,000) dollars for return travel.
